In Florida, county Clerk of Court offices are required to hold annual Drivers License Reinstatement Days, otherwise known as Operation Green Light. With many courthouses across the state closed to the public, some counties are holding these events virtually, so it is important to check with your local Clerk of Court in advance.
This incentive program helps individuals with delinquent fees due to criminal fines and unpaid tickets pay off the debt by waiving the collection fees that would ordinarily be assessed. This can be a huge savings because collection fees can be as high as 40% of the fine amount. For individuals with a suspended license due to unpaid court obligations, taking advantage of Operation Green Light can be a pathway to getting a valid drivers license.
